Cohort 9 participants came from a broad range of social care settings. They were concerned that the relentless pressure on acute hospitals was resulting in many individuals being placed in care settings that were not appropriate to meet their needs.

This, they believed, caused unnecessary distress for residents, families and staff. In response to this, they designed an accessible information booklet which clearly set out the different types of care settings and the range of services provided in each of these settings.
