Initial Quality Improvement topics explored by Cohort 15 included meaningful activities, potential focus on 1:1 activity, coaching and development and supervision and appraisals.
Managers explored topics in pairs utilising the MHL “Bake Off” tool. Participants ultimately agreed to develop two Quality Improvement Projects:
1. A Resource for meaningful activities
2. A Coaching and Supervision Template based on My Home Life tools and frameworks.
Participants developed a resource flyer for activities and created two acronyms to support development and engagement of activities:
E – Engage
N – Nurture and
G – Generate
A – Activities for
G – Growing
E – Enjoyment
S – Sparking
M – Meaningful
I – Interactions
L – Lifting
E – Everyone’s
S – Spirits
The Coaching and Supervision template was piloted in two care homes. Following feedback, questions were adapted and changed to gauge a better understanding of how staff were feeling.
